About Jasen Cummings

Jasen Cummings (He/They) is a 23-year-old theatre artist and intimacy director based in New York City. Dedicated to using the art form as a tool for social change and community, as well as integrating consent-based practices into the production process, Jasen brings a compassionate and transformative approach to his work in the theatre industry.

Jasen recently graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College in May 2024. There, he was in high demand as the preeminent student intimacy director and coordinator on campus. Jasen also has gained credits as a director, actor, performance artist, consultant, and costume designer, and had the pleasure of being a line producer for SLC's Musical Theatre Ensemble. Along with Theatre, he also completed coursework in Psychology, Political Science, and Gender & Sexuality Studies.

Since graduating, Jasen has continued his training and artistic practice. He is currently certification-pending with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC) after attending IDC's in-person intimacy directing training intensive in 2025.

As a lifelong outspoken activist focusing on topics such as censorship, gun violence prevention, and queer liberation, among many other causes, Jasen loves integrating activism and resistance into their artistic practices. Jasen is a certified Consent-Forward Artist, is trained in Mental Health First Aid, and is wholeheartedly dedicated to antiracist and equitable practices.

Currently seeking new opportunities in the theatre industry, Jasen is eager to contribute their skills and dedication to a team that values collaboration and vulnerable, honest storytelling.
